In the history of the construction has been a lot of materials that a make possible the creation of a building or group of them. These materials have different compositions that make more or less resistible, for this discussion topic we have two experts in this field; Candida Ferreira, expert in the brick and stone; and Dione Escobar, specialist in iron, steel and concrete. They mention the materials characteristics, advantage and disadvantages and how each material is related to architectures and urban planning.

Candida Ferreira: -Hi, for me it is a pleasure to meet a specialist as you’re in the iron, steel and concrete. Materials those are important in the construction
D.E: - Well thanks, bur entering the subject; I would love to know the characteristics of the stone and the brick
C.A:- Stone is building material more hard and is usually readily available. There for initially the stone was used for built The first buildings on Earth ago 500,000 years ago by the early ancestors. The brick also have been used in construction for centuries. The brick is a block of ceramic material used in construction, usually laid using various kinds of mortar. It can last for a very long time, like stone. But nowadays both the stone and brick are used for decorate, garden edging, exterior veneers- fireplaces - interior veneers- entrance ways- pillars - wine cellars, because are being used new materials for construct of building. But you already know that because you are an expert in these new materials
D.E:- Yes you right! In my case of study, the iron and steel are another’s materials construction
C.F: - And how are these materials?
D.E:- The steel is more uniformly strong, elastic and workable; also its high resistance in all stresses can be closely calculated. This material has variety shapes. The iron is malleable metal, silver gray and has magnetic properties, is ferromagnetic at room temperatures and atmospheric pressure. It is extremely hard and heavy
C.A: - They are amazing
D.E:-- Yes, but the steel has a disadvantages
C.A:- Like the stone and brick
D.E:- The disadvantages are ruts, loses strength in extremely high temperatures
D.E:- But the good thing is that these disadvantages can be solved. One of the solutions is to be made with steel alloys to make it more resistant to corrosion. Aluminum and other light metal alloys have come to be favors for exterior construction because of their weather resistance
C.A - Brick is the opposite, the Extreme weather may cause degradation of the surface. In case of brick solved this Disadvantages is very difficult
D.E:- Really? That is interesting.
D.E- Well the concrete is a material construction that we see in the most buildings. The ingredients of this material are cement, water and small stones. One of the use that is given to the concrete is basically for the construction of columns, bridge and domes
C.A: - There exist a type concrete that mixture with Stone, for create a concrete harder
D.E: - Yes that is so true!
D.E:- Well finally, In relation to architecture and urban planning, I think that the materials I mentioned are important in the construction of buildings and entire cities, besides being used very often.

Also, I think that both planners and architects must think in the design and the materials used don’t you think?
C.A: - Of course because not only can be used to construct but also to decorate, in the UK Although many houses are now built using a mixture of concrete blocks and other materials, many houses continue to use bricks on the outside for decoration
